Tho little black-eyed fiddlers and harpists who muke music for us ou the streets are, in a vast mujority of cases, subjected to great hardships and , cruel despotism. All the colored candidates for West Point, four in.number, failed to puns the examination, aud in consequence thereof, will not have tho pleasure?if it be one?to be hazed by the older cadets. Of the ninety-nine applicants who presented themselves, thirty-two failed to pass. It is a bountiful sight to attend nn Arizona wedding. If you want to read all about more robberies, murders, outrages and other black'crimes than ever durkened the; record of uuy community in heathou dom, buy a New Orleans paper utid see what Kellogg's strikers arc doing j for a living down there. Twenty-one freshmen were lately suspended from an Eogliah college bo cause a professor couldn't find out who j placed a ten-ounae tack iu his chair. He, however, knew all about who sat down on it. A little child of Mr. S. C. L. Bush, living in the lower part of Augusta, died on Sunday, from drinking u solu? tion of potash which had been left iu tho kitohen.
