BY JULIAN A, SELBY. A Cchiosity.? In an old-fasbioued wooden frame, bearing the inscription, "S. Brand, Carver and Gilder, No. 27 High Street, Edinburgh," but exhibit? ing no other marks by which ite age could be decided, was recently found the following document. Apart from any hit-curio value* wbich may be claimed for it, the description is per? fect in ita aimplidityj and presents the picture which is paiuted by our imagi? nations, of what might huve been the aspect of Jesus of Kuzareth to the eyes of the generation that beheld him walking in their midst. The epistle is j said to have been taken by Napoleon j I from the pablio records of thu city of i Borne. LiETTEK of PuBIitUS L 2: N xolt^, to the Senate of Home, Concerning Jesus ChiustV?It beirjg th? u,snal custom of Kornau Governors to ad? vertise the Senate and people of such material things'as happened in their provinces, in the days of tho Emperor Tiberius Cresar, Publins Leutulus, President of Judea, wrote the folio w ing epistle to the Senate, concerning our Saviour: "There appeared in these our days, a Man of great virtue, numed Jesus Christ, who is'yet living amongst us, and of the People is accepted for n Prophet, but his own Disciples call him The Son of Gpd?He raisetli the dead, and cureth all manner of 'diseases?A man of stature somewhat .tall und comely, with a very re,vereud counte nonce, such as the beholders muy both love and fear? His huir, of tue'u?l?url of achestrnt full ripe, and pluiu to j his ears, but thence' downwards it is more Orieut, curling aud wuving about his shoulders? In tho midst of bin head is a' scam, or a p?rtitiou of his hair, after the muuner of .the N&zaritea ?His forehead pjaiu and.vory delicti te ?Hifi face without spot or wrinkle, beautified with a lovely red?His uo^e and mouth so formed as nothiug can be reprehended?Hie beard thickisb, j in colour like the hair of his bend, nut very long, but forked? His look inno? cent and mature? His eyes gray, clear I and quick? In reproving, he is terrible ' ?In admonishing, courteous and fair epoken?Pleasant in conversation, mixed with gravity? It cannot be re? membered that1 *aoy have; seen him laugh? But many have seen him weep ?In proportion ? p( b?tfy most ex? cellent? His hands and arms delecta? ble to behold? In speaking, veiy tem? perate, modest and wue? A Man, for bis singular Beauty, surpassing the Children of Men." At Arlington.?Mr. C. Culver, writing to the Bichmond Diapatch, concerning the decoration of Confede-1 rate graves at Arlington, says: The triumph of to-day, at Arlington, though apparently insignificant, was a I triumph of grander magnitude to the present and future of this country than all the bloody battles combined, in which the brave of tho "blue" aud the "grey," that lie here in one com? mon charnel house, fought and died. There seems to have been prophecy in these, lines: "Our cause survives thetyraut's trend, And sleeps to wuke at Arlington !'* -?? ? Mr. Q'iilp wishes to know why a mosquito is like charity? Letters directed to city addresses, street aud number, will, if recognized by the assorting clerks us intended for box holders, be delivered through the boxes. If not so recognized, they will bo delivered through tho carriers. 8. Mail matter addressed without box number or street number, will bo de? livered as expeditiously as possible, either through boxes, general delivery or carrier. Correspondents should direct their letters plainly, correotly and fully, and those who rent boxes would greatly facilitate the business if they will print conspicuously on their letter beadiugs, circulars, bill-heads, cards and enve? lopes a request to correspondents to address loiters to their respective box numbers, and if those who receive mail matter by carriers would direct their correspondents to include in all cases the proper streets and numbers in the addresses of all letters.
