Maysv?le Bulletin says: We are in?

Cincinnati a short time since, a mem?
ber from New York arose ono morning
and stated that he desired introducing
a resolution in favor of celibacy among
the clergy, and proceeded to give
some cogent reasons in support of it,
when a member from Ohio suggested
that the "brudder" from New York
had better be a little cautious or be
might stir up a hornet's nest. A bald
headed "brudder" from Kentucky then
arose, much excited, and said: "Dat
de mober of de resolution not only
would stir up a hornet's nest, but he
bad already stirred up de bald-headed
hornet's nest, dat he knew de ante
oeders and de seoederB ob Brudder
Morgan, ob New York, dat Brudder
Morgan, ob New York, was now in de
'joymont ob de oarfly felickity of his
fourf wife, and dat her butiful form
would scarsly be laid in do cold and
silnm tomb, and dat her angelick
?ngora would scarsly touch dc strings
ob de golden harp in de celestial city
afore Brudder Morgan, ob New York,
would be looking out for number live."
After tbo bald-headed brudder had
taken his seat, Brndder Morg*an, of
New York, withdrew his resolution.
Exclusive Cotton Planting.?The
Maoon, Go., correspondent of the
Louisville Courier-Journal takes Col.
Lee Jordan, the largest planter in that
State, as an example of tho evils of ex?
clusive cotton culture, and shows, by
his own admission, that, though rais?
ing from 2,000 to 3,000 bales every
year since the war, ho has not saved a
dollar by tho operation. Every cent
realized was needed to pay handB, bny
provisions and run the plantation
generally. The significant and en?
couraging fact is added that Col. Jor?
dan has gone back to the old plan?
raising enough provisions to do, and
after that ali the cotton he can.

intended, at Oberlin, but at Cleveland.
The reason assigned for tbe change is
that the citizens - of Oberlin have
neither shown regard for the efforts of
the committee, nor treated the mem?
bers with duo respect. Whether is
