All bar-rooms, saloons and other plaoeB for the sale of liquors by retail, shall be closed at 6 o'clock of the evening preceding the day of such elec? tion, and remain closed until G o'clock in the morning of the day thereafter, and during the time aforesaid, the salo of intoxicating liquors is prohibited. Any person duly oonvioted before a com? petent court of a violation of thia sec? tion, shall be punished by a fine not ex? ceeding $50, or by imprisonment not exceeding six months, or by both such fine and imprisonment, iu the discretiou of the court." v The regular and special policemen have been instructed to report all viola? tions of above-stated law.
