layed in its completion by want of the
necessary lands, The ooBt of the mona?
ment will be $10,000; the first install?
ment of $5,000 has been already paid to
the distinguished architects, Moldoon &
Co., of Kentuoky, who are proceeding
with tho monament, whiob, when
finished* will bo a noble sod beautiful
tribute to oar deceased soldiers. It is
requisite that $5,000 shall be raised by
Ootober next, to complete this Bam of
$10,000. This can be easily obtained, if
each District will pledge itself to give
$200, and if every individual who re?
ceives one of these circulars will send
the small sum of $1. Let a treasurer
and collectors be appointed in every vil*
l?ge and city, and lot the money collect?
ed by thoso looal treasurers be promptly
forwarded to the General Treasurer,
Mrs. W. K. Baohman, at Colombia. If
the ladies in these Districts will give tho
matter their earnest attention, we are
convinced that they will Boon eecnro the
