Who'll tread yon church with willing feet A hundred years to oome? Pale, trembling age and fiery youth, And childhood with brow of truth, The rich and poor, on land and sea? Where will the mighty million be A hundredyears to come? We all within our graves shall sleep A hnndred, years to oome; No living soul for ns will weep A hundred years to come; But other men our land will till, And others then oar streets will fill, A nd other birds will sing as gay,* And bright the sun-shine as to-day, A hundred years to oome. A young lady of Albany, N. Y., has1 been very euooeesf ul as a singer in Rus? sia, where she appeared under the name of Albani. At Bt. Petersburg, after the performance of the mad scene in "Lu? cia," she was recalled twenty times; and, thinking the opera was over, as far as she was oonoerned, ohaoged her dress and prepared to leave the theatre; bat so vooUorous was the oheering that ehe had to appear in her walking-drags on the stage no less than nine times. At Moftcow, after the performance of "Somnsmbula," she was recalled forty times. A Sweet Answer.?A little boy and girl, each five years old, were playing by the roadside. The boy became an-j gry at something, and struck his play? mate a sharp blow on the cheek, where? upon .she ;sat . down and began to cry. The boy stood looking on a minute, and then said: ((I didn't mean to hurt yon, Katie. I am sorry." The little girl's face brightened instantly. Tho sobs were hashed, and she said: "Well, if you are sorry, it don't hurt me." In one1* of the Western Counties of this State, a green ohap went to the house of the girl that be bad fallen in love with, and stayed over night. In the morning, as all genteel young ladies would, she gave him a wash-bowl and towel to wash bis face. He took great1 offence at this; said that his face was not dirty, and* did not need washing; wont off in high dudgeon, and did not re? turn. So the girl made a most happy eecape from marrying a brute. Scene in court: Judge?"Have you anything to offer to the court boforc sentence is passed on you?". Prisoner?
