"Section 15. Be it farther ordained, That if
any person shall cut down, kill or wilfully
damage anv tree, natural or transplanted,
growing in the atreeta of Columbia, or shall
wilfully destroy, injure or remove any post, ]
railing or box, used or erected for protecting"
auch trees or the aldewalks, such person shall
be subject to a penalty not exceeding forty
flvo dollars for each and every otfenoe."
