tional Bank holde a lien of the building for a

By eaid Act a special annual tax is required
to be levied to pay the simi-annual coupons,
and tho Carolina National Bank is made the
trustee of the city to receive tho taxes when
collected and to pay tho coupons. Tho cou?

Tito taxable property of the city is at pre
scut assessed at $7,000,0CO; and by said Act |
tho bond debt of the city cannot be increased
beyond fGOO.OOO whilst these bonds are out?
dancing. Tho bonds are exempt by law from
oity taxation.
These bonds are offered to the publio at
eighty nott, with interest from date of pur*
ohaso to January 1, 1873, allowed in settle?
ment. After that date, the accrued interest
to bo added.
