to 110,000 per annum; and the Carolina Na?
tional Bank holds a lien of the building for a
term of twenty years, aa trustee, with power
to collect the rents and hold the same invest?
ed aa a fund for tho redemption of the bonds.
By said Act a special annual taxis required
to be levied to pay the eimhahnual coupons,
and the CaroHna National Bank is made the
trustee of the city to receive tho taxes when
collected and to pay tho coupons. Tho cou?
pons are also receivable for city taxes.
The taxable property of the oity is at pre?
sent assessed at $7,000,000; and by said Act
the bond debt of the oity cannot bo increased
beyond $000,000 whilst these bonds aro out?
standing. Tho bonds are exempt by law from
oity taxation.
These bonda are offered to the public at
eighty nett, with interest from date of pur
chaee to January 1, 1873, allowed in settle?
ment. After that dato, the accrued interest
to be added.
