A yoong lady from New York has been visiting relatives in this city during the past two weeks, and had mode arrange? ments to return homo lust, Friday night, having a strong impression upon her mind that she must go homo without delay. For the sake of tbo company of a relative on her journey homo, however, ?ho was induced to postpone her depart? ure u'ntil Monday eveniug last. On Sunday morning, after a quiet night's rest, she was suddenly awakened between 3 and 4 o'clock, and saw a figure dis? tinctly, or was convinced she did, stand? ing in her room, near the door, looking toward ber. The figure bore au ex ac t resemblance to a sister she left at homo in New York in her usual health. Thc young lady got up and weat toward the apparition, and it disappeared. She then opened a window and looked out, but seeing nothing more of the figure or anything else nuusuai, she returned to her room and fell asleep again. lu n short time, she was awakened and saw the apparition of her sister again, with the same life-like appearance und in the same position as before. She got up again, end as she advanced toward it, it reoeded from ber approaoh and disap? peared as before. Again she looked about from room to room and oat of the window, but saw nothing more of it. Being now too much excited to sleep longer, abe dressed herself and remained sitting up in her chamber waiting for day-light. Her uncle, who is an early riser, bearii her moving about the room, and OD his inquiring why shu wus up eo early, she related her experience as stated above, and when the family bad all risen it was the anbjeot of general remark and comment. On Sunday noon, the young lady received a despatch from New York, informing her that her sister batt died soddenly at the very hour tho apparition had appeared in her ohamber. This, undoubtedly, was intended to aid Austin in his endea? vors to out the iron bars of bis cell. A 1 photograph case, of most artistic work? manship and almost ns thin as a wafer, was also found; it was examined, add under tho thia aovoriug of paper on the reverse side, a emull steel blade, filed' like a saw, a steel spring of a watch, shaped likewise, a coil of copper wire, with a magnet attaahed, and three long; needles, were found. This'was sufficient evidenoo of her complicity in liberating her husband, and she was immediately arrested and imprisoned. Austin, (?Hus Williams, has been recognized by the detectives of Trenton, Harrisburg, Lan? caster and Philadelphia as the lender of one of the most notorious gangs of horse and wagon thieves that hus infested the Middle States for years. Ho escaped from MoyamensiDg prison in 1871, and still hus three years to serve. A new industrial art, under the name of "heiioautographio printing," is now attracting attention in Paria. This pro? cess is said to enable au artist to make his own designs and drawings, to print from them upon photographic paper, and reproduce the same upon litographio stone, so as to obtain impressions ot his own work, in the minutest details, inde? pendent of the engraver or lithographie draughtsman.
