CERT IN BEHALF OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA MONUMENT ASSOCIATION.-The Board of Directors of the South Carolina Monu? ment Association beg to announce that a conoert in behalf of their association will be given in Columbia, early in Novem? ber. A number of celebrated amateur performers of this plaoe, besides seve? ral gentlemen from other parts of the State, havo generously lent their services for tho occasion. Tho programme and full particulars of the concert will be published some weeks prior to tho fair, so that persons residing in distant parts of the State may avail themselves of this opportunity to enjoy a rich musical treat. The Monument Association has pur? chased a site for the Confederate monu? ment, and hopes soon to lay tho corner? stone. A largo sum is still needed to completo the work, and wo appeal to all for aid-to those whose privilege it was to fight by tho sido of tho gallant dead whose deeds wo commemorate; to the mothers and wives of these men; to their ohildron, who, in years to como, aro to redeem South Carolina; and lastly, to those who lovo liberty and who honor tho past and pray for the future of our beloved State. SOUTH CAROLINA MONUMENT ASSOCIA? TION.-COLUMBTA, S. C., September 20, 1872.-Tho Board of Directors of the South Carolina Monument Association, encouraged by the success of the bazaar, last year, and yielding to the nrgont request of a great number of persons, take pleasnro in announcing that they will open a "monument restaurant" at the fair grounds, on the first day of tho fair, and will not close their Bales until after the distribution of prizes. This restaurant is entirely under tho control of tho Board of Directors of the associa? tion, and the Executive Committeo is appointed from thoir number. Lunches will be served from ll A.
