A correspondent of the New York
Sun, writing from Saratoga, says:
I met John Morrissey to-day. An
eager shake of the hand, with a word or 1
two of mutual r?cognition, was all that
was necessary before the question of
Greeley's chancos for suoeesa beoame the
animated topic of conversation.
"Well, John, what do you think of the
old philosopher's prospects for the Pre?
sidency?"
"Good enough, and daily improving,"
was his ready answer.
"Do yon think with his endorsement I
of the Baltimore Convention that his1
election will amount to a certainty?"
"Certainly, I do," he said; "and
although I may be wrong in my conclu?
sions, my money ain't, and I stand ready
