The Presi? dent, of conree, hesitates to pursue snob a warfare as that, for it would inevitably bring down npon him all the Republican opponents of Hartrauft and company, marshaled by Forney, and would render I defeat, even from an Ad min io trat iou stand-point, absolutely certain in Octo? ber. Republican advices from varions quarters of the State already concede a defeat in October by the triumphant elec? tion of Mr. Buckalow as Governor. If Cameron persists in ibo ostracism of Federal office-holders, the ordinary work of the campaign will not be even neces? sary to bring that result abont.
