ANNAPOLIS, December 28.-Mrs. Whar
toa's servant, who waited upon Ketoh
um, in giving a detailed account of
Ketohnm, said he would sleep it off.
The doctor had left but one dose of
medicine, which Ketchum said was cot
enough, and he would tske a dose of his
own. The servent, in making up Ketoh
urn's bed, found a vial auder the bolster.
The servant left the vial ia Ketahum's
room, and told Mrs. Wharton about the
vial. She brought it down and showed
it to Mrs. Wharton, who told her to put
it away. She never saw the bottle be?
fore finding it coder Ketchum's bolster.
She saw Ketchum take medicino iu Mrs.
Wharton's house last summer, aud asked
Ketchum if he would have a spoon; he
said no; he generally drank what he
thought was a dose. The servant did
not know what the medicino was.

The appearances indicate that a torrible
struggle must have occurred between the
murdered man and his murderors, and from
the traoes of blood.up the railroad, it is sap
posed that tho perpetrator of this fool deed
bas boen wounded inj somo way by tho de?
ceased in his struggle for life, which may
load to detection.
