A DISGRACEFUL OUTRAGE.-- A little
over'two weeks ago, a most disgraceful
on trago -waa committed upon two elderly
ladies, ;:by^th^^aitf?3 of Salton, living
on tho Beatty road; opposite Hebron
Church. It appears that lr*- *\t night a
man called at the boase, cursing and
swearing in a shocking manner, and or?
dered them to put out thoughts, j The
poor women, hoing very much alarmed,
escaped through the back door, and hid
themselves ia the gardon. The fiend
followed, cursing and threatening, and
forced them to return to the house. He
then compelled them to give up all the
money they had in the house, which
only amounted to $5, and which they
intended to purchase meat, flour, coffee
and sugar with tho next day. When the
fellow lirst called, he asked if a cortaia
disreputable woman lived mero, and be?
ing informed that she did not, ho com?
menced his brutal conduct. He told the
ladies that ho belonged to the garrison,
and they could call there and get redress.

years of age, and obtain an honest living
by work. The loss of $5, though small
in amount, is very great to them, as it
was their all, and wa would suggest that
