RECEPTION IN SAVANNAH OP THE CON?
FEDERATE DEAD.-The steamship Amori-1
ea, from Baltimore, arrived at Savannah
Friday, tiaving on board the remains'of
a number of Confederate doad, removed
from the battle-field of Gettysburg. A
committee of ex-Confederate soldiers
took the honored remains in charge im?
mediately, and escorted them to tho long
room of the Exchange building, where
they laid iu state until Saturday after?
noon, at 4 o'clock. At that hour they
were carried in procession to Laural
Grove Cemetery' and interred. The
vessels in port lowered their flags in
honor of the gallant dead.
