for an injunction to restrain the Mayor,
Comptroller and others from paying out
money for expenses of city and County
Government, except out of the balance!

gislature, after paying the State taxes
and publip debt, principal and interest,
due in the current year. Ex-Judge Bar?
rett made a lengthy argument in support
of tko application, claiming that the
stato of affaira required this action. At
the conclusion of his address, Judge
Burnard said: "You are entitled to your
order, sir." That is granting the relief
asked for. The executive committee of
citizens and. tax-payers held a seooud
meeting to-day. Forty. ? members were
present.. After some discussion, a mo?
tion to muka the session 'of the commit?
tee private was adopted, und reporters
were bowed out. -The chairman said the
secretary of the committee would make
all communications necessary to the pub?
lic press.
In the matter of Judge Barnard's de?
cision, to-day, on application for injunc?
tion against the city authorities, the in?
junction was refused os to tax collections
aud payments of accruing liabilities; but
granted against the issuiug of bonds.
Practically, the1 injunction is nugatory,
because all tho bonds authorized by the
Legislature have been already issued aud
negotiated, except the Viaduct Bail way
bonds, that are yet not called for.
