THE QUACK DOCTOR IN HIS DEN.-The
Times gives a report of an interview held
with RoBenwoig, or Ascher, from which
we toke the concluding portions. The
reporter had visited the "Doctor" and
put an imaginary case, for the parp?se
of obtaining an insight into the diaboli?
cal business for publication :
"Bat in case of tho child's death, who
ia responsible in the eye of the law if a
discovery is made?"
"Don't worry about that, my dear sir.
I will take care of the result. A news?
paper bundle, a basket, a pail, a resort to
the sewer or tho river at night. Who is
the wiser?"
"But, Doctor, if the mother dieB?"
"If that should happen, of course you
woald stand tho expense. But you need
never fear. Tho lady can be disposed of
without trouble. I caa get murriage or
burial certificates without trouble. You
know Madame Bestell oad all the others.
I have the samo facilities they have.
We caa do tho thing up handsomely, and
I caa save you lots of expense. All these
other fellows are humbugs. But why
did you not bring the lady here?" ho
asked, with aa evident suspicion of the
visitor, and then turning the key in the
look and leaning his ponderous form
against tho door, ho seemed to forbid
oar egress from the place.
