Saya the Hillsboro (N. C.) Recorder Mrs.
Lydia Shanklin, probably the oldest
person in this State, died nt her resi?
dence in this County, on Friday lost.
She Was. about 112 years old. Was a
grown woman during the Revolutionary
war.
Madame Regina Dal Oin, a famous fe?
minine surgeon of Austria, performed
160 saoceasful operations at the oity hos?
pital in Trieste, and was rewarded by
the municipal authorities with a letter
of thanks and a purse of gold.
A lady,* named Mrs. Betsy Hudson,
living about six miles North of Warren,
Pa., on tho Jamestown and Warren
Road, aged sixty-five years, presented
her husband, a few days ago, with a
healthy, bouncing baby.
