instance furnishes some hope for the
keepers who were arrested at Villa Del
cabre for complicity with the insurgents.
JACKSON, Miss., May 13.-Just before
the adjournment of the Legislature, a
general railroad aid law was signed by
: the Governor and became a law, donat?
ing ?$4,000 per mile to new railroads.
This is the most liberal legislation ever
had on railroads by the State; and it
will givo great impetus to all the roads
in the State. Among the important
Ads passed this week and approved by
tho Governor, is one giving all the State
lands to the Mobile and North-western
Railroad, generally known- as Mann's
Road. The Legislators "adjourned sine
die, and with general good feeling. Gov.
Alcorn entertains the entire body this
afternoon.
