For some time past, tho neighborhood
of Wull street hus been flooded with
cleaned revenue stamps' of various de?
nominations, varying from ono cent to
fifty dollars in value. Yesterday, Col
Whitley arrested two dashing-looking
young men, who have long been em?
ployed among tho brokera as. clerks, and
to their possession found a valise iu
which wero about $20.000 worth ol
stamps. The majority of tbe stamps bud
been deaned und were ready for the
market. The remainder were much de?
faced. The cleaned stamps were perfect
aud would defy detection, except ut tbe
bauds of an expert.'

chloride of suda for the purpose of re?
