tank soon set fire to these cars, wh
after striking the wreck, fell over i
tho creek, a burning mass.
It is said that some passengers in
sleeping car succeeded in leaping fi
the car in time to save themselves f
death, but tho rest were carried with
car over tho bridge, aud wero eil
drowned or burned to death. Tho b
of P. H. Vosburgh, conductor of
sleeping car. was afterwards found, \
tho lower extremities burned away.
This morning tho wreck was clei
away from tho sleeping car as it lay ti
the ico, and a vigorous search modt
tho bodies of thoso passengers
might bo crushed in tho wreck or tl

car a heap of charred and blacki
bodies were found, but so disfigured
identification is un possible. Frotr

accident, had rushed in despair tc

reutly thoso of a mother and her
