AN ACT TO MAKE APPROPRIATION POE THE PAYMENT OP THE PEU DIEM AND MILE? AGE OP THE MEMBERS OP THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY AND THE SALARIES OP THE SUBORDINATE OFFICERS, AND OTHER EX? PENSES INCIDENTAL THERETO. SEO. 1. Be il enacted by tho Senate anil House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, now mot and sitting iu General Assembly, and by tho authority of the same, That for tho payment of the per diem and mileage of tho mem? bers of tho General Assembly and the salaries of tho subordinate officers, and other expenses incidental thereto, tho sum of ouo hundred and thirty-ti vo thou? sand dollars, if such bo necessary, be, and the same is hereby, appropriated out of any funds in tho Treasury not other? wise appropriated. SEO. 2. That tho Clerks of tho Senate and House of Representatives bc, and they are hereby, authorized and directed to furnish to each member of their re? spective bodies a pay certificate for tho amouut of his mileage and per diem., to inoludo such dates us tho General As? sembly shall, by concurrent resolution, direct. SEO. 3. That such certificate shall con? form to tho provisions of Section 23, Article 2, of tho Constitution of tho State, ??u shall bo certified by tho President of the Senate, and attested by tho Clerk of the Senate, for all members of that body, and by the Speaker of the House of Rep resentatives, and by tho Clerk of the same, for all members of that body. SEC. 4. That tho subordinate officers and employees of this General Assembly ?hall, in like manner, bo furnished with certificates of pay io such amounts us shall be fixed by that branch of tho G en oral Assembly to which such officers and employees shall respectively belong: Provided, however, That the pay certifi? cates for services common to tho twe Houses shall bo signed by tho President of tho Senate, and countersigned by thc Speaker of thc House of Representatives. SEC. 5. That thc Treasurer of thi: State is hereby authorized and directe*] to pay said certificates out of any fundi in tho Treasury not otherwise disposed of, and to hold tho certificates as hi; vouchers therefor.
