CALIFORNIA JUSTICE LYNCH LAW.-At
IO o'clock, on the morning of the 17th
ult., 300 armed men assembled in
Stearn's Hall, Los Angelos, California,
elected Mr. Sign OU rest President, aud
'tho meeting at once proceeded to the
discussion of tho case of Miguel Lache
nrti for thc murder of Jacob Bell, ou lust
Wednesday, and other murders which
he is known to have committed. After
a brief session, it was unanimously de?
cided to huug Lachen ni. At ll o'clock,
tho Vigilantes were divided into three
companies and marched through thc
streets to the jail, being joined on the
way by nearly 1,000 people, the majority
of whom rc echoed the cry of hang him.
Arriving at tho jail, guards wero sta?
tioned itt different points to prevent any
iuterfereuce with their work, and a party
commenced battering down the doors,
which occupied fully half an hour. Eu
tering Laclienai's cell, a ropo was put
about his neck and he was led into the
street. At this point the excitement was
intense, all being eager to get u sight of
the man who had committed so many
cold-blooded murders. Tho Vigilantes
surrounded Lachen ai and conducted
him to a corral some two squares away
from the jail and hung him ut 1.40 A.

sneak he confessed his guilt, but ex?
pressed no regrets. Tho sherill' and his
officers made ull thc resistance possible,
but they were nuablo to raiso a man to
assist them, all believing iu the justness

it is to be provided with wonderful ma?
chinery to develop u uew motive power,

various other visionary thiugs which wo
j would rather seo perfected than pro?
mised. While Mr. Morrow is experi?
menting, the beleaguered Parisians have
really accomplished somcthiug practical.

instantly killed, by a blow with a stick.
