TBRBina ACCIDENT.-Tho Thomasville
Enterprise learns that a steam grist mill,
at or near Calhoun Station, in Lowndes
County, Ga., was blown up ou Thurs?
day, 15th inst., resulting in tho instant |
death of six negro laborers and the se?
vere wounding of sixteen others. A
little son of Mr. Alexander was in the
mill a short time before it blew up, and
is reported missing; it is feared ho was
killed. There was no insurauco on tho
property.

Falatka is a point I can recommend. A good
hotel is kept thoro by Pet erman. Taut win?

had been badly diseased, but who, under the

cines, wore getting well.
One hundred miles further down the river
is a point which I would prefer to Falatka, as
tho temperature is more even and tho air dry
and bracing. Mollonvillo and Enterprise are
localed thoro. I should givo a decided pro
ference to Mollonvillo. lt is two miles from
river or lake, and it seems almost impossible
to tuite cold there. The tabloB in Florida
might bo better, and patients complain at
times, but that is a good sign, as it indicates
a return of appetite, and when this is tho cane
they generally m?rcate in flesh, and then the?
lungs must beal.
Jacksonville, Hibernia, Green Cove, and
many other places in varions parta of Florida,
lean bo safely recommend! il to consumptives^
1 in winter. My reaten* for sating so ttro'triat
patients art! less liable to ti.ko cold there limn
where there is a less ?.ven temperature, and it
is not necessary to say that where a consump?
tive persou expoecs himself to frequent colds,
he i-* certain to dio shortly. Therefore, my
advice is, go wei! down into tho State, ?-?i>v vi?
tim reach of prevailing East winda and fogs.
Jacksonville, or almost any other of the'lo?
calities I have name d. will benefit thoso who
are troubled with a torpid liver, a disordered
stomach, deranged bowels, soro throat or
cough, but for those whose luugs aro diseased
a moro Southern point ia earnestly recom?
mended.
For fifteen years prior to 1800,1 was profes
sionally In Kew York, boston, Baltimore and
I'hiludelpl-.ia every week, whtro 1 saw and ex?
amined ou an average five hundred patients a
week. A practico BO extensive, embracing
every possible phase of lung diseaeo, baB ena?
bled mo to understand tho disease- fully, and
hence my caution in regard to taking cola. A
person may take vast quantities of "tfcbcnck'u
Pulmonic Syrup, (Seaweed Tonic and Man?
drake Pills," and yet die if bc docs not avoid
taking cold.
In Florida, noarly everybody ia using
Schenck'e Mandrake Pills, ior tbe o'imato is
moro likely to produce bilious habits than
moro Northern latitudes. It is a well estab?
lished fact that natives of Florida rarely die
oT consumption, especially those of tim South?
ern part. Un tho other hand, in New Eng
: laud, one-third, at least, of the population
I die of this terriblo disease. In tho Middle
1 Stales it docs not prevail so largely, still
there aro many thousands of erwen there.
What a vast per cent ago of lifo would be saved
if coiifcumptivi wore as easily alarmed in re
gaid to taking fresh cold as they aro about
scarlet fever, nall-pox, Ac. But they arc
not. They tako what they term a little cold,
wi ich they are oredulona enough to believe
\ will wear oil in a few days. They pay no at?
tention to it, and hence it lays the foundation
for another and another still, until tho lunge
are disoased beyond nil hope for cure.
My advico to persons whoso lunga are
affected even slightly is, to lay in a stock of
Schenck's Pulmonic Syrup, Schonck's Seaweed
Tonic and Schonck's Mandrake Pills and go?
to Florida. I recommend these particular
