announcement from French sources, that
two divisions of the army of the Loire
effected a junction, appears without
foundation.
BORDEAUX, December 21.-Havre is
now BO strongly fortified, there are no
fears of attack. All tho works about
Havre are fully manned. Several war
vessels anchored before the city. Cher
boqrg is also regardud impregnable to
any foroe the enemy can bring agaiust it.
The fortifications on the laud side are
