A WHOLE DEMOCRATIC FAMILY ra THE
LEGISLATURE. -The election returns from
the several Counties of Jefferson, Pu?
laski, Massae and Marion, show that the
Caseys have made a sort of family affair
of the next Illinois Legislature. To
begin with, we have that rugged, old
fashioned, uucompromisiug Democrat,
Major Sam Cosey, who bolds over as
State Senator from the Third District.
Next comes his younger brother, Dr. N.
R. Cosey, as Representativo from Pulas?
ki and Massae-an equally sterliug
Democrat, aud au excellent gentleman.
Then we Lave Colonel Tom Casey, n
still younger brother, tho geninl, jovial
and brilliant Democratic Representative
elect from staunch old Jefferson County.
And lastly, in order, turns up Captain
Samuel Dwight, a nephew of the gentle?
man named, as the intelligent yoting
Democratic Representative from Marion
County. Old Zadoc Casey, of such
pleasant memory, did n tremendous
work in his time, iii the way of popu?
lating this State with Democrats, and il

former. Between tho two was a table, at
which sat the Judges and Mr. Johu London,
Commissioner. Tho wheels wero made with
glass sides, so that every Hiing within them
could bo seen, and were securely locked, until
the drawing beean. This was dono by means
of two little boys, who were securely blind?
folded, one drawing a number from one of tho
wheels and tho other the prize to correspond
with it. There is no question but that tho
drawing wan done in a perfectly fair and just
