at the Theatre, yesterday noon, to witness tho
Grand Drawing of tho North Carolina Beno
iicial Association. There woro 100 prizes in
all, and littlo rolls of papor separating these
wore placed in a wheel on ono sido, whilo tho
tickets woro in another wheel onposito to tho
former. Between tho two was a tablo, al
which sat tho Judges and Mr. John London,
Commissioner. Tho wheels wero made with
glass sides, so that everything within them
could bo soon, and were securely locked, unt il
tho drawing began. This waa done by means
of two littlo boy?, who were securely blind?
folded, uno drawing a number from one of tho
wheels and tho other tho prlzo to correspond
with it. There is no question but that tho
drawing was dono in a perfectly fair and just

grand single number distribut iou of tho North
aroliua Boneliciul Association, which took
place at tho Theatre yesterday, at 1 o'clock,
was tho all-absorbing theme during tho day.
Tho drawing took place in public, a commit
too having been selected from thc audience
to act with tho Commissioner in keeping nu
account of tho Bamo, and to eeo that it was
conducted fairly. Quito a rcspcctablo crowd
was present to witness the drawing. The fol?
lowing numbers drew tho principal prizes:

$2,500; No. 234*2, $2,000; No. 1107, $2,000; No.
