KILLED STEALING CABBAGES.-A co? lored preacher, named Jake Gaillard, was Bhot and instantly killed yesterday morning, between one and two o'clock, on the farm of E. Li. Boohe, Esq., in the subnrbs, by Israel Parker, the colored patrol. While guarding the vegetable patoh, Parker saw a couple of colored men enter it with bags and begin to fill them. He hailed them repeatedly, and finding they were about to fly with their plunder, he raised his musket and fired, with the result aa stated.-Charleston Courier.
