On the day following tho storm, a party of men happened to run upon a little canvass tent pitched upon the river bank. There was no signs of life about it, and one of the men, out of curiosity, went to it, and lifted the canvass door and stepped in? There, in one end of the tent, sst Yellow Hawk, erect and rigid as a statue, with his eyes wide open, and ono hand firmly grasped on a dog's neck, and the dog standing on his fore legs, and partly sitting on his haunches, staring wildly in the same direction as his master, while on tho other side of the dog .was the wife cf Yellow. Hawk, resting upon her elbow on the ground, sud staring in the same direction that the other occupants of the tent wero gazing. The man was inex Eressibly terrified by the speotaole, and is first impulse was to run; but there was something so wildly strange in their eyes and in the general, expression of their features, that he was bound to the spot. Not a musole of their faces moved, and they held their positions like sta? tues-they were dead I It is presumed they were killed by lightning during the storm of the pre? vious night; still there was no evidence that their death was caused in this man? ner. Their 'features bore an expression of intense fear, but there were no signs of the lightning's work about them, or about the tent.
