Tho German press look with suspicion upon imperial honors still being paid to tho prisoner at Wilbolmshobe. The Prus? sian official Staats Anzeiger announces that it is true that Napoleon Bought death in the fighting on tho 1st of Sep? tember, and fought on foot from 8 o'clock in the morning until 3 in tho afternoon, and wo all know that nothing can gain the sympathy of the world for an expir? ing mau Uko bravery shown. The feel? ing of hate ouco shown in Germany against Napo\eou has turned to pity, and in many eases to amusement. The rumors currently reported and be? hoved by the people, aro to the effect that Napoleou will only remain at Wil? helmshohe until tho German army shall have entered Paris; that then ho will re? turn thither, and, according ns circum? stances permit, either soizo tho reins of government himself, or abdicate in favor of his son. Only when the whole go? vernment machinery is fairly iu working order will peace be concluded. Prussia will not, these reports say, recognize the Republic, and so far tho latter's addres? ses have fallen cold upon Germany. The King of Prussia, it is ' said, Btill ac? knowledges the legality of the plebiscite, by virtue of which, the voice of the people, Napoleon is still Emperor of the French. TELEGitAiriNO EXTRAORDINARY.-The National Telegraph Company, of which D. H. Craig is manager: sont over its now wire from Washington to New York a messago of 5GG words in ono minute abd twenty-eight seconda, and the same message was repeated back to New York in one minute and twenty seconds, being at the rate of 551 words per minute. The messago was recorded both hero and at Now York in tho Morse alphabet. The ^Little automatic machino" was need. Tho company and numerous capitalists who have witnessed the ope? ration of the machine, aro perfectly satisfied with its working; and two more wires, known as the "Compound" wires, are to bo put up between Washington and New York.
