Poughkeepsie passed the following reso?
lution :
"That this Convention will discounte?
nance any person or personBwho has or
will continuo to vote the Democratic
ticket, and that we agree lo disregard
them, and will not give-any place or pro?
tection or shelter in houses, or place of
business, but consider them an enemy to
oar raoe forever."
As this is an attempt to intimidate
voters, all the parties concerned are lia?
ble to arrest and punishment under the
late law of Congress, which was passed
to protect the Southern negroes from
just Buch oppression. Rather a funny
