The Khedive -baa shown his sagaoity in seleoting ami appointing, to high office snob men as. .Generals Reynolds, Stone, Loring, Douifor, Mott, Sibley, Rhett and others. Most of those, if not all, are West Point educated men, and had been in tho United States army before onr war. They wero ' Southerners, and unfortunately took tho wrong side in that terrible struggle Their names are as familiar as household words here. Every ono remembers Jbeir military skill, achievements and bravery. Both by education and experience, they are well fitted for the high positions given to them by the" Viceroy. No abler or better men could have been fonnd in the world. Tho Viceroy may well be proud of "his Americans." " They will render him most valuable Bervice, particularly should Egypt be drawn into war through tho convul? sions that are now shaking the old world to its very contre. Yet while these officers will bo faithful and do good service for Egypt, they do not and cannot forget the "far off land" of their birth.
