TOURS, September 23.-Effective mea? sures have been taken for thu protection of Orleans arid Tours. The "Prussians are withdrawing their forces from other points to concentrate around Paris. Their cavalry is inces? santly in motion, patrolling the country for miles around the capital. Their object is to prevent communication. Paris will surely hold out and proceed with the elections. A corpse of -Spanish guerillas is form? ing at Toulouse, to assist in the defence -of Paris. Gambetta has sent a now Prefect to take charge of Haut Rhin. ROUEN, September22-Evening.-The small villages between Mezieres and E pi nal, were burned by the Prussians, who shelled the citizens when endeavor? ing to extinguish the flames. The Prus? sians have bombarded Nantes and La Ville. Gen. Wimpffen, in a recent lotter, says the Emperor surrendered at Sedan in a oowardly manner. Wimpffen proposed a movement which would have redeemed everything, but it was overruled at onco. NEW YORK, September 24.-Tho Tele? gram has a special despatch from Fier riere, near Paris, 10 o'clock to-day, which says rifle and canuon firing wore heard on the streets of Paris this morn? ing. On the 21st, it was distinctly ob? served from the heights, that a conflict was going on, but nothing was heard re? garding details or parties engaged. Later intelligence says a revolution hos been threatened by the Red Republicans, who are furious against tho prosont leaders. Tho Hotel do Ville will proba? bly bo seized. Resistance to a revolu? tion will probably bo impossible. Toul was captured by storm. Tho town was badly damaged. TOURS, September 24.-The Constitu? tionnel says there is positivo knowlodgo of only forty-four persons having been killed behind the walls of Strasburg within tho post month.
