Sinoe the result of the election in this '
State, we learn that the number of land
buyers and the inquiries in regard to
farms and other real property for sale
have greatly increased in the State. Wa
have seen and oonversed with gentleman
from the North, recently arrived in
search of a home in this State, who say
that there being now some prospect of
stability and honest administration of
tho Government, mauy from tho North
will seek locations among us. Wo hope
to seo them coming by the score and
hundreds. Our peoplo know well the
difference between tho Buenking, cor?
rupt, unprincipled, spoil-seeking carpet?
bagger, who comes for no other purpose
than to get office and rob tho people,
and the industrious, upright farmer and
msohanio and capitalist, who comes with
an intelligent appreciation of tho advan?
tages of our soil, climate and natural re?
sources, with a view to bettering his own
condition and contributing to tho gene?
ral welfare and prosperity. The latter
they are ready to welcomo with open
band and heart; to tho formor they will
bid farewell without tears or regrets.
The Royal family of England is
sufficiently represented by its connec?
tions in the present war. There aro
eoveral blood relations of tho Queen in
the field-on the German side, of course.
The Crown Prince is tho husband of tho
Princess Royal of England. Princo
Louis, of Hesse, who commands a
division, married tho Princess Alice, and
bas received ?6,000 a year ever since by
way of compensation. Tho Crown
Prince gets ?8,000 a year with II?B wife.
DEATHS IN ATLANTA.-Tho last report
of the board of health shows that tho
number of deaths for July was: Whites
38; colored GI-total 102. Deaths in
Auguat: Whites 29; colored -19-total
78. White paupers buried during Au?

clergyman to marry him aud gave a
bogus cheok for services rendered, and
received a large amount of genuine
currency in way of change.
A family of oight persons went to re
Bide near Enterprise, Miss., a short time
since. They were almost immediately
seized with fever, and are now all dead.
