bably be convened expressly for the pur?
pose. The oouncil of ministers hope
that the Prince will receivo more than
170 votea; the minumum required by
resolution of Cortes. The Prince is ex?
pected to arrive iu Madrid early in No
vember. A Spanish fleet will bo despatch
ed for him. The Gaulois, an iudependent
organ, has the following: Gen. Prim, in
reply to a despatch from Clozaga, tho
Spanish Ambassador to this city, asserts
that he acted with the conseutof Regent
Serrauo, unofficially and outside of di?
plomacy. Finding difficulty in obtaining
a candidate for tho Spanish throne, be
addressed Prince Hohenzollern, who
unites many qualities, but whose per?

Domestic News.
WASHINGTON, July 7.-The House, on
motiou, adhered to its amendments to
the funding bill and demanded a com?
mittee of conference. The Senate's new
amendments were referred to the Com
mittee of Ways and Means. Pat Wood's
case was resumed. Brooks made a point
of order, that Woods should be present
while the polioe court was trying him;
Woods was brought to tho bar. But?
ler's amendment, imprisoning Woods,
to the fourth of March, was defeated
88 to 89. The minority report, that
Woods bo returned to tho Richmond
Hustings Court, was lost-56 to 20.
motion to reconsider the vote, rejecting
imprisonment to tho fourth of March,
was made, while fillibustering com
menoed, which promises to occupy tho
day.
4 Tho House finally passed tho majority
resolutions regarding Woods, which jails
bim for three months. The conference
report on the currency bill was adopted.
The bill provides for an increase of $54,
000,000 circulation and the retirement
of $-15,000.000 three per cent. The Sen?
ate provision in relation to coin notes is
retained, and the House provision for
the retirement of $25,000,000 in the
States, now in exoess, with a proviso,
that this amount shall not be withdrawn
until the entire $51,000,000 shall have I
been taken by States now deficient. It
goes to the President.
Mr. Brooks introduced a bill to incor?
porate the Tohnantepeo Railway and
Ship Canal Company. Referred to the
Committee on Foreign Affairs. In the
Reconstruction Committee, a motion to

supply the deficiency. The bill passed.
The Post Office Committee reported a
bill for steamships between Oedar Keys
and Havana, with amendments. The
naval appropriation bill was resumed and
passed, without amendment. It goes to
the President. The apportionment bill
was passed, with amendments, which
takes it back to the House.
The apprehended Georgia bill will not
be touched this session.
Internal revenue receipts to-day, ?663,
000.
The House, refusing to concur in the
Senate funding bill, Schenok, Hooper
and Brook?.were appointed a Committee
of Conference.
Ex-Collector Bailey's account shows
only $31,000 deficiency.
Customs for the week ending July 2d,
are over 8234,000,000.

NEW ORLEANS, July 7.-P. P?. Forney,
son of J. AV. Forney, while attempting
this afternoon to jump on a train of the
Ponchatrain Railroad, had his loft leg
badly crushed below the knee. He was
sent to the Charity Hospital. Dr. Smythe
thinks amputation will be necessary.
Linville Bianco, a switch-tender on the
Opelousas Railway, while attempting to
jump from tho train was severely in
jared.
Mathias Fisher, a Germau, was killed
by Martin Worm, who struck him twice
on the head with a sledge-hammer.
