C., and "-Bucktown, Tonu., to Cleveland, Tenn., or-Dalton, Ga., connecting tho ports of Nowberno, Wilmington aud Charleston with San Diego, Cal., by way of tho contemplated Southern trans-continental railway. An amendment to tho harbor and river appropriation bill as offered by Sawyer was adopted, oppropriatiug 87,500 for the improvement of Tom's Creek, near Columbia. In tho Seuato, tho Conference Com? mitteo on the funding bill are Sherman, Sumner and Davis. The conference re? port on the army bill was made the special order for to-morrow eveniug.
