last night, passed the Southern Pacific
Railroad bill, with amendments that the
road be built of American iron aud steel,
and that tho gauge of the road, West of
Marshall, shall be five feet. The Fre?
mont party regard the shape of the bill
as greatly in their interest.
The Senate, while in executive ses?
sion, to-day, by a vote of 31 to 28, re?
fused to consider the San Domiugo
treaty, which expires on the 1st of July.
The Senate amendment to tho thirty
fifth paralell road excludes land grants
from Indian territory-2(5 to 20. Tho
thirty-second paralell bill was amcuded
to allow branches to use not over 20,000
tons imported rails. This notion is in?
tended to cover Fremont and other con?
tracts already made for foreign iron.
The tax bill was resumed. Tho tariff on
sugar was stricken out, thus leaving
sugar as at present-voto 27 to 2G. The
same action, namely, leaving tariff as at
present, was takeu regarding spices,
wares, liquors, cotton manufactures, &o.

In tho House, a memorial and resolu?
tions of a mass meeting iu New York,
for protection of laborers and mechanics
against Chinese, was presented. A bill
giving priority in United States Courts
to eases wherein States are involved,
passed, and goes to tho Presidout. A
bill providing penalties for offences
against the national curreucy passed; it
applies to presidents, directors, cashiers,
tellers and clerks of national banks. The
House went into committee on appro?
priations; an amendment passing, that
a Southern loyalist, aged seventy-five,
from whom $600 worth of property was
taken, be rejected. Tho Senate is con?
sidering the thirty-fifth parallel Pacific
Railroad, making tho fourth.
In the House, among amendments to
the appropriation bill, was $15,000 addi?
tional for nn equestrian statue of Scott.
The South gets nothing so far. A bill to
prevent the extermination of fur-boaring
animals in Alaska waters, passed. A bill
allowing imported articles, except wine,
distilled spirits, perishable aud explo?
sive articles, to bo shipped iu bond from
and to New York, Boston, Baltimoro,
Port Hudson, Chicago, Cincinnati, St.
Louis, Evansville, New Orleans, Port?
land, Buffalo and Milwaukee, passed.
The currency bill was considered, but
without action the House adjourned.

NEW YORK, June 27.-The cotton
movement for the week waa compara?
tively light, both in receipts and exports;
receipts were small, and for any one
week since the cotton season commenced
to draw to a close, exports Bhow a very
heavy falling off as compared with last
week, but are largely in excess of corres?
ponding week last year; reoeiptj nt all
ports for the week were 12,847 bales,
against 15,526 last week, 17,995 previous
week, and 22,441 threo weeks since.
Tkeso figures show a uniform and gra?
dual decroase in recoipts; exports from
all ports for the week were 19,898 bales,
against 40,332 last week, and 8,104 this
week last year. Preceding figures show
a fitful and irregular movement in the
export line; receipts at all ports from
September 1, 1869, to date, reach
2,813,323 bales, against 2,096,604 for
same time last year, showing an increase
of 716,719 in favor of tho present season;
exports from all ports from Soptember 1,
1869, to date, 2,042,183, against 1,409,
907 last year, showing an increase of
632,276; the stock at all ports is 206,227,
against 72,053 last year; stock at tho in?
terior is 42,813, against 46,365 last week,
and 5,835 this date last year. The stock
of ootton in Liverpool is 642,000, against
388,000 last year; the amount of Ameri?
can cotton afloat for Great Britain is
100,000, against 79,000 last year; amount
of Indian cotton alioat for Europe is
320,663, against 626,754 last year. Ac?
counts of tho growing crop aro favorable
in the main, although there has been
considerable- complaints of lato of too
much rain in many sections of the South.
Wo cannot learn, however, that any
serious damngo has resulted from rain,
except in a few localities. The heated
term, inaugurated at this point during
the week, seems to have extended gene?
rally to the South, and latest advices are
more favorable to the growing plant.

afterwards became dull and heavy, with
