ley, in the United States Circuit Court,
rendered an opinion in the caso of Myra
Clark Gaines vs. the city of New Orleans
et al., carrying out the decree of thc Su?
preme Court of the United States in her
favor, and ordered that she be placed in
possession of tho property described in
the decree, so as to embroco ouly the
lauds in possession of tho city ut tho
time of filing bills.
The Ihnes, commenting on tho deci?
sion, soys: "The result is quito n disap?
pointment for. the plaintiff, and quito a
victory for the city, ?nd it only adjudges
right and title for four vacant squares.
Tho large claim to property sold by the
city in 1830, the principal basis of Mrs.
Gaines' claims and expectations, is still
in dispute.
WASHINGTON, June 10.-Major Perry
Fuller has given bond before Judge
Wylie, of this city, in 850,000, to answer
certain oustom house charges against
him in NewOrlean8. Fuller's bondsmen
are Senators Ross, of Kansas, and McDo?

In tho House, n great part of tho day
was consumed in tho investigation of
alleged falsity of a despatch charging
Congressional corr uptioii in Cu Vian affairs.
After a warm discussion, the matter was
referred to a committee, with power to
send for persons and papers. The den?
oionoy bill, as it WAS returned from the
Senate, was considered. The Senate
made 256 amendments.
Internal revenue receipts to-day, over
81,000,000.
Bed Cloud and his party had a final
interview, to-day, with the Secretary of
the Interior, when Bed Cloud reiterated
his demand, previously made, for the
removal of Fettermnn, and was informed,
much to his dissatisfaction, that he would
not be removed. He was informed that
arrangements had been mnde for tho de?
parture of himBelf and party for their
homes, Monday next.
Spurious stamps ou North Carolina
