Nothing tangible has transpired. The
new internal revenue'bill was reported
to-day. It takes taxes off of nearly
everything, except fermented liquors,
distilled spirits, tobacco, cigars,' and
stumps; and income tax on sales, except
on liquor dealers, is abolished, also taxes
on legacies and successions..of gross re?
ceipts from railroad corporations, oto.,
though the tax on receipts of theatres and
lotteries is retained. The income tax is
fixed at five per cent., with an exemption
of Si,500; but 0*11 tho inquisitorial fea?
tures of the tax bill aro abolished. The
tax on gas, pianos, carriages, watches,
&o., is done away with. A tax of three
per cent, per annum is levied on all pub?
lie monies deposited in banks. Thc

and honorably national. John Bull is
also, as we are told from Austria, about

that King George makes a "temporary"
abdication. This is serious. There ure
no instances of temporury abdications
now-a-duys. A king out of sight is a

utmost irresistible on either side.
HOGS DESTROYED EY FIRE.-Tho hog
pens attached to J. W. Gaff &. Co.'s
distillery, at Cincinnati, were consumed
by fire on Wednesday morning, and
about 3,000 hogs were destroyed. The
squeals und shocking cries of the animals
were heard one milo and a half. The
pens belonged to Gaff Sc Co., and wero
valued at $20,000, eu winch them was no
insurance. The hogs were the property
of Sadler & Co., whose loss was about
$55,000, and insured in borne companies
(or $15,000. Tho entire loss was $75,000.
