NEW YORK, May 10.-Arrived - tho
steamer Arizona, from Aspiuwall, with
dates to May 1.
A United States steamer left Panama
on the 18th ultimo, to investigate the
dispute between Weirtheus, consul at
Limburg, and tho postmaster there, who
had had a personal encounter relative to
delivering the mails to the consulate.
The news from the Darien Sbip Canal
is unfavorable. The Caledonia Bay route
is pronounced impracticable.
The Indians continued friendly. A
telegraph Hue was being built.
Ohilian news unimportant. In various
parts of Bolivia heavy rains had fallen,
and roads were impassable. A terrible
storm of stones occurred at Las Playas,
'Pera. Gardens, orchards and crops of
all kinds were cut to pieces. It was ac?
companied by a slight earthquake. The
Salvador coffee harvest will be largo.
Yellow fever had appeared at Costa Rica.
Among the passengers by tho Arizona
are fifty-two survivors of the Oneida.
NEW YOBK. May 10.-Tho jury in the
McFarland trial rendered a verdict of not
guilty, after three hours deliberation.
NEW OHIIEANS, May 10.-Tho Mace
and Allen excursion got off. There was
an immense crowd; many of them pro?
minent merchants, lawyers, physicians
and ex-officers of both armies, from ge?
nerals down. Seventy policemen accom?
pany the train a quarter of a mile out,
where ticketless persons will be ejected.
The betting is three to two on Mace.
A despatch from Kenners, La., says
Mace'Whipped .Allen in ten rounds
. forty-four minutes. Allon was badly
punished. Mace was scarcely injured.
First blood for Mace; first knook-down
for Allen; everything passed off quietly.
The steamer Frankfort, from Bremen,
with 350 passengers, mostly emigrants,
arrived to-day. She brought seven men
from the British barque Hero?.which was
burned on the 2d. She WOB bound from
San Jago do Cuba to Montreal, with a
full cargo of sugar and molasses.
ATLANTA, GA., May 10.-Suit was
brought to-day in the Superior Court,
by Governor Bollock, against' tho Con?
stitution newspaper, for libel and slander
in publishing tho statement that tho Go?
vernor had sold tho State railroad to the
Adams Express Company.
