On Tuesday, at. Glasgow Junction,
Ey., a terrible fight occurred between
the Sheriff acid, his posBe and two des?
peradoes named Sbives, for whose arrest
the Sheriff had a warrant. Sbives fired
on tbe Sheriff, mortally wounding two
most estimable citizens. The duxpera
does escaped, but the citizens bunted
them down with dogs and captured them.
They, were placed in the jail at Glasgow
under a strong guard, as it is thought an
attempt will bo made to hang them.
