WASHINGTON, March 7-2 P. M.-In
the House, the Com mitten on Territories
were instructed to consider the propriety
of abrogating the tribu? character of the
Indians between Kansas and Texas, and
the erection of a territorial government.
A resolution authorizing the special
Telegraph Committee to examine the
whole subject of telegraphing in the
United States, with power to send for
persons and papers, failed.
In the House, a resolution from the
Mississippi Legislature was presented,
asking for a speedy removal of political
disabilities.
Wells introduced n bill to reclaim the
swamp lands of tho Mississippi Valley,
and to promoto tho commerce of tho
North-west.
The President wai iutorrogated regard?
ing the action of tho British Govern?
ment in excluding Americans from Cana?
dian fisheries.
The House refused to allow GollSday,
of Kentucky, to withdraw his resigna?
tion, notwithstanding the Governor's re?

were reported; also a resolution for the
