of the scarcity of competent persons, the
Legislature should elect sorao who arc
disqualified, it should accompany the
election with a resolution asking Con?
gress to remove disabilities.

It is with painful regret that we chronicle
tho sad demise, at her residenco, at Hodge's
Depot, Abbovillo County, on tho 15th of Janu?
ary, 1870, of Mra. CELESTA A. COCHRAN,
consort of Capt. J. N. Cochran, in forty-second
year of her age. Sad is tho lot to chroniclo

from tho companionship of a loving husband.

where companionship of her blessed home is
forever unbroken, lier years had boen spent
in works of usefulness, and in endeavoring to
insure happiness to her family. Ho who

her loving husband of tho comfort of his
declining years, her sorrowing family of tho
fond object of their affection, and hor many
friouds of ono whose memory will ever ro?
