Thd - process is exceedingly simple.
First put down 100, to which place two
cyphers to tho right, which makes the
tmm read1 ten thousand. Into this divide,
132, and the quotient will be the coin
vnluo of the paper; and if this quotient
is substracted from 100, .the difference is
tho discount of the paper. Second, di-,
vide 182 into 122, first placing as before
two cy ph ors 'to tho right of the latter,
tho quotient will bo about 81,%, and is
tho ; coin value of the bonds. All this
may bo- accomplished in a tenth of the,
tim? and place occupied in stating it. '
When gold is quoted $1 10, a paper
dollar is worth 91 cents, nearly.
1 When gold is quoted at $1 10, a paper
dollar is' worth 87 cents.
When gold ie quoted at $1 20, a poper
