At Chili, Ind., Sunday before hist, two
little girls of John C. Bellew, one thir?
teen and the other eight years old, got
up to bnild a fire, their mother being
sick and their father nbsent from home,
and using a oan of cord oil, an explosion
followed? their clothing caught lire, nnd
both were so badly burned that they
died that night.
A most diabolical crime enmc to light '
in the township of Lden, in the South- !
west part of Marshall County, Iowa, on
Thursday morning last-no fess than tho
murder of three children and thc sudden
disappearance of their mother.
Au epidemic has attacked tho forest j
trees ol Pittsylvania County, Va., and
it is probable that all thc trees will dio.
The chestnut trees wore first attacked,
and now the oaks and other trees aro I
dying.
A boy in Covington, Ky., who was]
bitten by a dog n day or two before last
Christmas, was attacked with hydro?
phobia on Wednesday last, and died in a
few hours.
