that fertilizers are liberally used in the

light. The drought in the Carolinas and
Georgia caused tho carly bolls to drop ou
the uplands. The ravages of the cater?
pillar and boll worm, though sectionally
severe, are by no moans goneral. Pick?
ing will bo ovor unusually early, except
on tho plantations short of labor. Tho
report concludes with detailed and com?
plete estimates of tb? aggregate yield,
which bave not yet boen calculated.

examination of the Ootober reports, that
the preliminary and conditional estimate
heretofore mude, of 2,700,000 bales, the

Theatre Company have determined to
close tho Hibernian Hall, in consequence
of the slim attendance daring tho past
three nights. The audiences in attend?
ance nightly, thoy state, will not pay tho

low wo publish a tabular statement of the
recent election, by which it will be seen
that tho radical candidates, Messrs.
Sullivan and GuQin, have beou elected
by a majority of somo 28G votes, out of
a total vote of 1,059. Tboro wcro re?
turns from all tho precincts except
Lowndesvillo. At Lowndesville, there
was no olection held, on nccouut of some
difference between tho whito muuagers
and tho negro manager. This vote, if
taken, would havo reduced tho radical
majority, it is estimated, about 100
votes- -leaving them a majority of 186
votes. And this could easily have been
overcome, if nil of the whito men of the
District bad turned out at the polls. We
have at least 2.300 registered votes in tho
