attitude, once a favorito among Scottish
gentlemen of the sword, but now ne
?lected by fencers of the modern school,
believe it is termed the banging guard.
My friend imitated the professor.

ready to parry. Good! you have now the
surest guard you use; you make a strong
cross on your opponent's sword, and
