FATAL ACCIDENT.-Yesterday morning, I
about 6 o'clock, Mr. J. M. Duryea came
to his death under tho following circum?
stances : Mr. D. was engaged in cleaning
and repairing a pistol for thc uso of his
brother, who contemplated a trip in tho
country. While engaged in fixing the
pistol, his brother, who was in an adjoin?
ing room, heard tho psitol drop on the
fioor, and n discharge followed. Ho
rushed into tho room and found his bro
thor lying on tho floor with tho pistol
near him. Ho was shot through the
head, tho ball entering under the chin
and emerging nuder tho left eye, produc?
ing almost instant death.
