TEEN GENTS FKOM A NBOBO.-*-AS Mr. Stuart Bob so n, the popular comedian, tras approaching the corner of Rollins and washington streets, yesterday morn? ing, he encountered a pompous-looking darkey, who was in charge of a comfort? able family carriage and a span of sleek looking horses. As Mr. Robson neared him, tue newly-made American citizen patronizingly accosted him with: "Young man!" . "Sir to yon," aaid Bobson, pulling off his hat with mock politeness. "If yon are not'in a hurry, would you oblige me by dropping into that store across the way and bringing me a plug of tobacco? I can't leave my horses, and I'll do the same for you some day." For a moment tho comedian's dignity seemed staggered, but he quickly reco? vered himself, and, with an ill-concealed smile playing on his comic countenance, replied: "With pleasure, sir." The coachman banded him a twenty five cent note, which was received in the most respectful manner by Robson, who proceeded directly to thc store indicated, and In a few moments returned with the tobacco in one band, and fifteen con ts change in the other, whioh he held out to the party who had given him so strik? ing a proof of his oonndence. "Mr. Darkey received the tobacco with a slight 'thank yon,' and, waving bis hand with the most self-satisfied im? portance, said: "You can keep the change, young man." Mr. Robson's face has expressed many comical emotions in his professional capacity, but we doubt if he ever looked so quizzically ludicrous as when, fully realizing the amusing absurdity of bis position-he pocketed his fee and walk? ed briskly away.-Boston Courier. Now, the truth is that Patti gave notice to the managers on Tuesday, of last week, that she was teeing at the palace on Friday, at the concert to be given for the enter? tainment cu the Vioeroy of Egypt, and the announcement of the opera of "La Figlia del Rjegipiento" was made by them without her knowledge or consent, and was a direct fraud upon the people. Patti had nothing whatever to do with it, and aa'soon as it came to her .'.now ledgo, protested warmly against the im? position. It is worth while to note that Mitchell, -of Bond street, refused to lend himself to tho cheat, and informed all ;wjiq applied-'at.,his establishment for seats of the chat?ga in the performance.
